Increasing Separation of Dissolved Gases Using a Portable System with Hollow Fiber Membrane Modules including Two Inlets
نویسنده
چکیده
membrane module is very important in view of decreasing weight of the separation system. The amounts of supplying water need to be increased in order to enhance separation of dissolved oxygen from water for same membrane module. If the number of membrane modules is decreased, both of size and weight of separation system are decreased and it leads to favorable condition in view of commercializing separation system.

Separation Characteristics of Dissolved Gases from Water Using a Polypropylene Hollow Fiber Membrane Module with High Surface Area
A polypropylene hollow fiber membrane module is used for separating dissolved gases which contain dissolved oxygen from water. These dissolved gases can be used for underwater breathing. To be used for a human, the minimum amount of oxygen is essential. To increase separation of dissolved gases, much water and high surface area of hollow fibers are requested. For efficient separation system, pe...
متن کاملSeparation of Carboxylic Acids from Aqueous Solutions using Hollow Fiber Membrane Contactors
Separation of formic, acetic, and propionic acids from the aqueous stream using membrane solvent extraction has been studied using three different membrane contactors made of polysulfone (PS), polyethersulfone (PES), and polyvinylidene fluoride (PVDF) using two different solvents; including ethyl acetate (EA) and diisopropyl ether (DIPE). The efciency of the membrane and e...
متن کاملCO2 Capture by Dual Hollow Fiber Membrane Systems
In this paper, a system for efficient removal of carbon dioxide by hollow fiber membranes is proposed. The system is compact, and it is very useful for application in the offshore energy industries. In particular, it is used to removing CO2 from the exhaust of power generation facilities on offshore platforms. The proposed dual membrane contactor contains two types of membranes (polypropylene me...
متن کاملMathematical Modeling of Carbon Dioxide Removal from the CO2/CH4 Gas Mixture Using Amines and Blend of Amines in Polypropylene: A Comparison between Hollow Fiber Membrane Contactor and Other Membranes
In this work, a mathematical model is established to describe the removal of CO2 from gaseous mixtures including CH4 and CO2 in a polypropylene hollow fiber membrane contactor in the presence of conventional absorbents such as monoethanolamine (MEA), methyldiethanolamine (MDEA), and a blend of them. Modeling was performed in axial and radial directions under the fully-wet condition for counterc...
متن کاملMunicipal Wastewater Treatment Using a Hollow Fiber Membrane Bioreactor
A bioreactor equipped with hollow fiber microfiltration membranes was applied for wastewater treatment. Removal of chemical oxygen demand (COD) and biochemical oxygen demand (BOD5) was investigated. The experimental setup consisted of influent and effluent tanks, and membrane modules using Polyvinyl Di–Fluoride (PVDF) hollow fibers. The operation program included suction and backwash...
